12 national holidays. That is the total number of holidays that 2021 will bring us according to the resolution of the General Directorate of Labor published in the Official State Gazette (BOE). Of those 12 holidays, only 8 will be celebrated jointly throughout Spain.
The health crisis has completely altered the festive calendars of Andalusia , canceling some of the most anticipated celebrations, such as the fairs, Holy Week and El Rocio. However, the 2021 work calendar does not suffer significant variations compared to other years, since it is the local festivities that have undergone changes due to the suspension of parties.
So much so and with the hope of returning to normality as soon as possible, that last July the Governing Council approved the decree establishing the calendar of labor holidays for the year 2021 for the Andalusian community. It establishes 12 national and regional festivities, plus two local ones proposed by each municipality.

Holidays in Andalusia in 2021

Day of Andalusia, Sunday February 28, but moved to Monday March 1.

Holy Thursday , April 1.

, Saturday May 1. Assumption of the Virgin, Sunday August 15, but moved to Monday August 16.

In Andalusia, these holidays will bring two bridges to coincide the festivity with Sundays. These are:

Puente de Andalucia . On February 28, the date on which the day that the Andalusian people voted on their desire to obtain autonomy is commemorated, falls on a Sunday, so Monday March 1 will be a holiday , thus being able to enjoy one more day of rest. It will be the first bridge after the Christmas holidays.

August Bridge . Monday, August 16 will be a holiday as well, as the feast of the Assumption of the Virgin falls on Sunday.

Two local holidays

To these twelve labor holidays are added the two of local character that each municipality of Andalusia must propose to the Ministry of Employment, Training and Self-Employment after the publication of the Andalusian work calendar 2021 in the Official Gazette of the Andalusian Government.
