Useful tips: the best neighborhoods to stay
Although more expensive, the historic center remains the most convenient choice due to its proximity to the main attractions. Neighborhoods such as San Zeno, Borgo Treno and Valdonega are slightly off-center (but the center is still within walking distance) but with less expensive facilities and easier to find parking .
These areas are also very quiet and peaceful in the evening , ideal for those traveling with children. However, if you want to enjoy an aperitif in the center or a special evening, a 10/15 minute walk is enough to be catapulted into the nightlife.
- Recommended areas to save : Borgo Trento and Valdonega, residential areas inhabited mostly by the locals
- Recommended areas for families with children : San Zeno, a quiet area with all kinds of services, and Citta Antica and Cittadella, a central district full of services and ideal for those who do not like very crowded areas
- Recommended areas for young people : Veronetta, the student district, is perfect for those looking for non-stereotypical nightlife and night-time energy

Verona area guide
Despite being quite large (with 250,000 inhabitants), in Verona there are basically 5 best areas to sleep and they are all close, located between the historic center and the Verona Porta Nuova railway station. This will allow you to move mainly on foot and to immerse yourself completely in the atmosphere of this wonderful city.
Areas to avoid : Borgo Venezia, Santa Lucia, Golosine and Zai are not recommended areas to stay, both for their location and for not hosting any tourist attractions or activities. These are mainly outlying districts
Citta Antica
The best place to sleep for those who want to stayclose to major attractions such as the Verona Arena, the Lamberti Tower and Juliet’s House. Piazza Bra, Piazza dei Signori, Piazza delle Erbe, the Roman Theater and Castel San Pietro, with its splendid viewpoint, can also be easily reached on foot.
The district corresponds to that enclosed between the Roman walls, therefore from Piazza Bra, and the Adige. The “Citta Vecchia”, also called Citta Antica, guarantees the charm of being in the heart of the city, moving comfortably on foot between shopping streets, lively squares full of cafes and restaurants, markets and historic churches.
As can be easily understood, accommodation in this area is quite expensive, although the offer is wide with historic hotels, hostels, bed & breakfasts and apartments to suit all budgets. Another defect, which unites the historical centers of a bit of all cities, is the difficulty of finding parking . It is therefore preferable to choose this option if you arrive by train.
