Likewise, an adjacent raw area will be available for future expansion with up to four more operating rooms. This same floor includes a new Intensive Care Unit block with 15 individual boxes, separated from the surgical block by a patio that will allow all the boxes to have direct natural light. There will also be an extension and reform of the existing external consultations, rising to 62 consultations, which will have a new access of its own and differentiated from the main access. And in the basement the loading and unloading unit will be located, in addition to a space for waste, an area for facilities and a parking lot for staff.
PMMT Arquitectura is the company in charge of designing the hospital expansion, based on FriendlyMaterials parameters, an objective method to measure the health level of built environments, and on Clear CodeArchitecture parameters, the first methodology that guarantees universal accessibility of any space .
FriendlyMaterials is an analytical method that makes it possible to objectively evaluate and compare how building materials affect the health of interior spaces and, consequently, the health of their occupants. It makes it possible to identify the healthiest building materials on the current market, and from there make the best choice in relation to the type of building and its needs.
Clear CodeArchitecture, for its part, is concerned with ensuring that all built spaces can be autonomously accessible by anyone, regardless of their abilities and circumstances. With the application of the two methodologies, developed by PMMT Arquitectura’s R+D+i department, the new Vithas Xanit Internacional hospital is postulated as a new space in which the high quality of services and results for all its users will be seen reinforced by the design and comfort of the new design of the complex.
