The renewal of the employment registration and demand card (DARDE) will continue to be automatic until April 30, due to the pandemic situation. The employment services point out that this renewal will be communicated in a timely manner until the indicated date. With this measure, the State Public Employment Service (SEPE) will be in charge of renewing the demand on the scheduled day without the applicant having to do so.
However, it is recommended to be aware of whether the renewal has been done on the day to inform the SEPE workers, if not. The DARDE card is essential to receive aid and to accumulate seniority as a person looking for work in the face of a possible offer.
In Andalusia, Asturias, the Canary Islands, Castilla y Leon, Castila-La Mancha, Catalonia, Cantabria, Extremadura, Galicia, the Balearic Islands, Navarra, Madrid, the Basque Country, Ceuta and Melilla, the renewal will continue to be automatic until at least April 30, 2021. Other autonomous communities, such as Aragon, La Rioja, Murcia and the Valencian Community, applicants must renew online, by phone or in person.
Access to the renewal of the employment application
The renewal of this document through the internet is different in each region of Spain. Entering the portal of each one, you will find the necessary instructions. In some portals, when accessing the first time, it is necessary to ask for the username and password at the employment office. In others, you can enter with the so-called contrast data, that is, the name, the national identity document (DNI), the date of the renewal of the demand or the telephone number.
This measure, which is being extended again, began to be adopted last March after the declaration of the state of alarm as a result of the health crisis caused by COVID-19 with the aim of facilitating management, reducing the risk of contagion by the possibility of agglomerations of people in the employment offices and avoid that there could be citizens who lose the benefit when demand drops.
During these months, different extensions have been announced in the face of the second wave of coronavirus that was causing activity restrictions in many areas of the country. At present, the different autonomous communities are already informing, through their corresponding departments, how the procedure for automatic renewal of the job application can be followed so that no problem arises in negotiations with citizens.
