Here we are. Tonight we finally start with the Sanremo Italian Song Festival, in its 72nd edition.
Among the novelties of this year the presence of the only category of the 25 “Artists” that brings together young veterans. There will be no eliminations either, this means that until the end of the event all the songs will remain in the competition. But what will be the new voting mechanism
Simplifying, according to the Festival regulations, there will be 3 juries : that of journalists , the Demoscopica 1000 and the Televoto . – The jury of journaliststhis year it has been renewed: it is made up of three independent juries of accredited journalists from the press , radio and the web .
-The opinion polls1000 jury : ” This year, unlike the other years, I wanted the opinion poll to be made up of a thousand people, in fact it was called ‘Demoscopica1000’ “. Amadeus explained yesterday during the press conference. “The opinion poll juryand representative of the universe of music users in Italy aged 16 and over ”, continued Claudio Fasulo, deputy director of Rai Uno. “And a representative sample by gender, geographic area and age. The people were selected on the basis of a structured screening questionnaire with consideration of variables such as: the turnout of music, listening channels, frequency of purchase, type of platforms used, genres listened to and personal practice.

These are some of the innovations contained in the Regulations of the Sanremo 2022 Festival , the third entrusted to the artistic direction of Amadeus who will bring 22 artists chosen by him to the Ariston stage and the 3 winners of Sanremo Giovani 2021.For all 25 “Artists”, therefore, it will be a competition without eliminations to reach the final evening of Saturday 5, with the announcement of the winner .
In the first and second evening the Jury of the Press Room, TV, Radio and Web will vote, in the third evening it will be the turn of the Home Television and the Jury of the Press Room, TV, Radio and Web. In the fourth evening the three juries will vote together. In the fifth andlast evening there will be the televoting and then again the three juries together to decide the winner. In detail : First and second evening . The development foresees that on Tuesday 1 and Wednesday 2 February the first 12 \ 13 songs in the competition are performed by the respective 12 \ 13 “Artists” who will be voted, separately, by the 3 voting components of the jury of the Press, TV, Radio and Web. The percentage weight on the overall result of the vote will be divided as follows: jury of the press and TV 1/3; web jury 1/3; radio jury 1/3. After the vote, a ranking will be drawn up d12/13 songs / artists performed in each of the two evenings.
In the third evening the 25 artists will propose the 25 songs in the competition that will be voted on both by the public through televoting , and by the “1000 Demoscopic Jury “. Both voting components will have a 50 percent weight on the overall result . The average between the percentages of votes obtained by the songs / artists in the evening and those obtained in the previous evenings will determine a new ranking of the 25 songs / artists in the competition.
On the evening of the “Cover”on Friday 4 February, each of the 25 “Artists” in the competition, will propose – alone or with a guest – a song from the Italian and international repertoire of the 60 ‘, 70’, 80 ‘, 90’ that will be voted by all the juries with a percentage weight of 34% for televoting; 33% for the Jury of the Press Room, TV, Radio and Web; and 33% for the “Demoscopica 1000”. The average between the overall percentages of votes obtained by the Artists in the evening and those obtained in the previous evenings will determine a new ranking of the 25 songs / Artists in the competition. Finally, on the final evening, the 25 songs in the competition will be voted on by
the public through televotingand, the average between the percentages of votes obtained by the artists in the evening and those obtained in the previous evenings, will determine a new ranking of the 25 songs.
Finally: “ The first three songs in the chart will be re-proposed through live performance or through audio-video recording. The previous votes will be cleared and a new audience vote will be held with the televoting of the Press, TV, Radio and Web Jury and of the “Demoscopica 1000”,with a percentage weight divided as follows: Televoto 34%: Jury of the Press Room, TV, Radio and Web 33%; “Demoscopic 1000” 33%. The song / Artist with the highest overall vote percentage obtained in this last vote will be proclaimed Winner of Sanremo 2022. The second and third song / Artist classified will also be proclaimed ”.
