About the coronavirus we have heard and seen, we will say to prevent, (ALMOST) everything. And it is that the clinical picture that Covid-19 is producing has changed since the start of the pandemic. Alpha, Beta, Delta, Omicron …, we have known the virus and all its companions, each one with its casuistry. And when it seemed that vaccines were neutralizing the enemy, Christmas and the arrival of cold weather have become a comfortable setting for the perfect storm. And still without Omicron being a real concern at the level of contagion and spread in Spain. Delta remains the predominant strain throughout Europe and is also one of the most easily transmittedof those detected to date. It is more than twice as contagious as the original virus and even the immunized can transmit it.
At a time, moreover, in which other ailments typical of the season are showing their faces. It is already known, ”if the enemy is stronger, join him”. The problem this year lies in how to differentiate them. Their presence is manifesting together, something that is and complicates the diagnostic work because they all share very similar clinical pictures. In this sense, and in anticipation of a possible collapse of the Health System (which has not yet occurred), some professionals from the union who fight in the front line of fire have been spreading messages of awareness and concern through various channels and platforms.
One of them has been circulating in recent weeks through WhatsApp groups, spread and posted on Facebook. The content of the message warns about the different symptoms that are being observed in emergencies and medical rooms, in order to detect them in time from home, isolate themselves and not collapse hospitals. Among those described, one unknown until now is mentioned: burning when urinating.
In this context, among the most unknown symptoms of Covid, doctors had documented more frequent urination in the clinical picture of some infected patients. This casuistry had been related to a new type of diabetes in patients who previously did not suffer from the disease and which was triggered together withother symptoms such as: being thirstier, having blurred vision and losing weight; all of them signs of hyperglycemia, which can be confirmed with a blood test.
New symptom in recent cases
Speaking of this symptom, exposed in the message prepared by professionals already mentioned, it should be noted that the burning sensation when urinating had not even manifested itself as a remote symptom. Now, it seems that in the most recent cases, several patients have agreed to have suffered from this uncomfortable sign among their symptoms. It remains to be seen, in a longer observation, if they are isolated cases or a simple coincidence linked to other factors or pathologies.
To be more specific, burning when urinating is most of the time a sign of urinary tract infection , which is much more common in women, but can also occur in men, causing symptoms such as a feeling of weight in the bladder, Frequent urge to urinate and general malaise. However, when burning occurs, it can also indicate the presence of other urinary or gynecological problems such as fungal infections, sexually transmitted diseases or allergies to any product.
Phases and symptoms
Within this same letter, the professionals warn again about the different phasesin which the virus works and develops within our body. And they insist on sharing and delivering the information “with all their family and friends.” Here we share it:
1st phase (Days 1, 2, 3)
The symptoms appear from the third day after the infection and the most common observed are usually:
Body
pain Eye
pain Headache
Vomiting
Diarrhea Runny nose or nasal congestion
Decay
Burning eyes
Burning when urinating
Feeling feverish
Scraped throat
Neck pain
In this phase it is important to act before the fever appears.Among the recommendations, it is recommendedDrink plenty of fluids , especially purified water. Drinking plenty of water is important to keep your throat dry and help your lungs cleanse themselves.
2nd phase (From the 4th to the 8th day): INFLAMMATORY
In this phase the virus attacks the nerve endings and there is a decrease in oxygen that can cause a worse quality of the blood. The most frequent symptoms are usually:
Loss of taste and/or smell
Tiredness with minimal effort
Chest pain (rib cage)
Chest tightness
Lower back pain (in the kidney region)
Difficulty breathing
To alleviate the effects and damage in this phase, hydration and intake of Vitamin C are recommended. Also remember that the pH of the coronavirus varies from 5.5 to 8.5. In this sense, food is also an important factor . The recommendation to eliminate the virus is to consume more alkaline foods, above the acid level of the virus, such as:
Bananas, Green Lemon → 9.9 pH
Yellow Lemon → 8.2 pH
Avocado – 15.6 pH
Garlic – 13.2 pH Mango – pH 8.7
Tangerine – 8.5 pH
Pineapple – 12.7 pH
Watercress – 22.7 pH
Oranges – 9.2 pH
3rd phase (Days 9 and 10): Healing
On day 9 the healing phase begins, which can last until day 14 (convalescence).
