Netflix has just announced the release date for the second season of The Bridgertons, the revelation series from last Christmas. A year after the first batch of chapters was released, there is already a release date for the continuation: March 25, 2022.

Despite the fact that the first installment focused on the romance of Daphne Bridgerton and Simon, the Duke of Hastings -who had a happy ending with his marriage-, taking into account that each novel in the Julia Quinn saga on which this fiction is based deals with the sentimental life of a member of the Bridgerton family, now it would be the turn of the eldest son and patriarch of the family, Anthony Bridgerton.
In the first eight chapters of the series by Shonda Rhimes (Grey’s Anatomy), the Duke of Hastings and Daphne overcame all kinds of obstacles until (be careful, spoilers are coming) they managed to get married and have a child, leaving aside the oath that Hastings made his evil father never have offspring. In the last scene Daphne is seen giving birth to a child, beginning a new stage for the couple. In addition, the actor Rege-Jean Page has already confirmed that he will not play the Duke, Simon, again.
Although his story has a happy ‘end’, the rest of the characters still have a lot to say. Eloise is on the verge of being introduced to society, something that terrifies her and takes her away from her dream of being a single freelance writer. Colin has gone to travel the world after his love failure with Marina Thompson, who has married for convenience after discovering that her pregnancy was going ahead. Benedict feels increasingly attracted to a different lifestyle, where classical forms and heteronormativity are questioned. And Anthony has given up on finding love and devoting himself to his responsibility as the firstborn of a family with an absent father.
After his heartbreak with an opera singer, he decides it’s time to settle down and marry a respectable young woman. He decides that it is time to understand marriage as a duty, and not as an act of love. This is how Quinn tells it in the book The Viscount Who Loved Me, where the Sheffield sisters come into play.
Anthony ( Jonathan Bailey ), therefore, will have a new love interest with the signing of Simone Ashley (Sex Education). She will also join the cast Charithra Chandran in the role of Edwina Sharma.
Needless to say she has to Lady Whistledown,Despite the fact that his identity was already revealed at the end of the first season, he will continue to pull the strings of British high society in the mid-19th century.
