Probably the 2017 edition of the Oscar Night , staged at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, will be remembered for the embarrassing trouble in the moment, perhaps, the most awaited of the event, or the proclamation of the best movie . Rocky – 1976
Rocky is a 1976 film directed by John G. Avildsen. Sylvester Stallone, then a little known actor, wrote and starred in this film, thanks to which he became one of the most loved faces in Hollywood.

The film won three Academy Awards : Best Picture, Best Direction and Best Editing. Thanks to Rocky, Stallone became the third man in the history of cinema, after Charlie Chaplin and Orson Welles, to receive an Oscar nomination for both screenwriter and actor for the same film. Made in just 28 days with a budget of $ 1.1 million and box office grossing 225.

Heaven can wait – 1978

Chariots of Fire – 1981
Moments of Glory is a 1981 film written by Colin Welland and directed by Hugh Hudson . It is based on the true story of the Cambridge university students who trained to participate in the 1924 Paris Olympics . The film received seven Oscar nominations and won four, including the surprise Oscar for Best Picture .
The film is best remembered for the famous soundtrack by the Greek composer Vangelis , which obtained the Oscarand in a short time it became a real hit, being then considered and used as an anthem of the great sporting enterprises, and more generally to sport. The other two honors are Best Original Screenplay and Best Costume Design;

Jerry Maguire – 1996
Directed by Cameron Crowe and starring Tom Cruise, Cuba Gooding Jr. and Renee Zellweger , the film tells the life of a heartless and scrupulous sports attorney (played by Tom Cruise) who, seized by redemption , decides to undergo examinations of conscience and to change the way of living professional sport. When We Were Kings – 1996
Also screened in 1996, “When We Were Kings” is a documentary directed by director Leon Gas t. Born as a film about the soul music concert that was to precede the boxing match between Muhammad Ali and the world champion George Foreman , which took place in Kinshasa, Zaire on October 30, 1974 , after a gestation of twenty-two years it became the portrait of one of the greatest athletes of the century.
The director, in fact, through interviews and archive footage, reconstructs Cassius Clay’s career, his charisma and the battle for civil rights, especially in favor of African Americans. Ali is the spokesperson and symbol of the cultural and moral redemption of the entire African people. In the 1997 Oscar night he obtained the award for best documentary;

Million Dollar Baby – 2004
A moving film with strong themes, and starring, directed and produced by Clint Eastwood . Rentenne Maggie Fitzgerald (Hilary Swank) breaks into the life of elderly boxing manager Frankie Dunn (Clint Eastwood), a man with no illusions, but no hard feelings. Frankie sees in her, even without admitting it, her daughter whom he hasn’t seen for too many years. Thus began their partnership which includes the woman’s total dedication to that man who seems to be the last link between her and the rest of humanity.

The Fighter – 2010
Directed by David O. Russell, the film draws inspiration from the life and sporting history of the American p ugile of Irish descent Micky Ward , champion in the light weight category, famous for having met three times the boxer of Italian origin Arturo Gatti, and his half-brother, briefly boxer and Ward’s trainer, Dicky Eklund. The latter in his short boxing career clashed with the world champion of the seventies Sugar Ray Leonard.
After a change of direction and consequent change of actors, the role of the stepbrother was entrusted to Christian Bale , whose interpretation, together with that of Melissa Leo, was so much appreciated that they both achieved recognition in the categories of supporting actors .
