The flamenco fashion sector has been one of the most affected by the pandemic, but little by little it seems that it is recovering its splendor. Flamenco fashion shows are beginning to resurface and the confirmation of the April Fair for next 2022 invites designers and artisans of flamenco fashion to recover their illusion. Although, if there is something that has really brought back the illusion of the sector, it is the confirmation of a new edition of Simof 2022. After a year of hiatus (the last edition of Simof was in February 2022), the Salon Internacional de la Moda Flamenca is celebrated again and it does so from February 3 to 6 in the Fibes auditorium.
The news has come like rain in May for a sector that does not stop displaying creativity to reinvent itself and offer alternatives to a situation that was already almost unsustainable. Like the flamenco fashion showroom that takes place in Los Remedios (c/ Fernando IV, local 2) from October 14 to 16 , from 10:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Some of the designers participating in this initiative are Pilar Vera, Flamenca Pol Nunez, Angeles Espinar, Sara de Benitez, Maricruz Moda Flamenca, Filigrana, Trinitran and Mari Carmen Cruz.
Although it is not the only activity related to flamenco fashionwhich can be enjoyed these days. Until November 14 you can see the exhibition Fashion in Andalusian costumbrist painting of the 19th-20th centuries at Casa Fabiola. Flamenco fashion and costumbrista painting embrace in this proposal that shows the public 12 designs by creators and firms from different Andalusian provinces.
This will be the new edition of Simof 2022
“We keep the same format as in 2020with the auditorium for the parades and the exhibition area, Simof Baila… This week we are beginning to market and we notice the enthusiasm of the designers to return to our catwalk. The traditional date is confirmed, from February 3 to 6, 2022 and we celebrate with it the 27th edition, the Covid-19 has only made us lose the one of 2021″, they explain from Fibes. Thus, flamenco fashion meets again at Fibes With three intense days of fashion shows and its usual exhibition with stands in which in recent years there were also fashion shows and dance shows open to the public
, Simof 2022, the return to the illusion of flamenco fashion
“Just the fact that it is confirmed that Simof 2022 will be held has been a shock to the flamenco fashion sector, both at a general level and at an individual level. It is a tremendous motivation and the confirmation that things are beginning to be as They were before. Flamenco fashion was at its peak and the consequences arising from the pandemic have been the worst of its setbacks. The return of Simof is confirmation that the sector is beginning to recover. The feeling I feel is one of joy , a full-blown high for everyone,” explains Raquel Revuelta, director of Simof.
In addition, he tells us that they are in the process of preparing the poster for this new edition of Simof, which is going to be “very special”. There is no doubt that it will be, only the fact of Simof’s return already seems special.
