Photo by Airon90. Historic and cultured city , it amazes for the international importance of its museums, its eighteenth-century palaces and monuments. Urbanistically founded in the Middle Ages, it was and still is an important crossroads between Latin and northern European cultures, as well as being the fulcrum of Vellegarina. The city passed under the domination of Venice in the Renaissance period, the Napoleonic one until the early 1800s and the Habsburg one until its annexation to the Kingdom of Italy and was heavily marked by the bombings of the Second World War. Rovereto and also Citta della Pace as evidenced by the Maria Dolens, the large bell cast with the bronze of the guns of the nations that participated in the First World War, whichevery night it sounds its 100 tolls of peace . To visit for a weekend out of the ordinary and away from perhaps more noble but never more important destinations.
