The thermometer exceeds 35 degrees and you are ready to start your long-awaited vacation destination to the beach. A few hours of walking ahead to reach the perfect climate, but it will be more bearable thanks to the car’s air conditioning … or not! If you have not carried out the pertinent checks on the car within the recommended timeframes or have not followed the advice for proper car care in summer, you may find yourself with the unpleasant surprise that when you turn on the air conditioning, what you receive in return is a slap in the face hellish heat that what it will do is warm up the spirits of your family before starting the holidays.
There is no more inopportune surprise than turning on the air conditioning and seeing that it does not cool well, does not work or smells bad. And even worse… there is no possible remedy to fix it on the fly. These are the reasons why your car’s air conditioning has stopped cooling , according to the Royal Automobile Club of Spain.

Gas leak

Antonio Manzano, RACE’s technical adviser, explains that the most common reason for air conditioning not working is gas leaks. These are going to cause the system to not work because there is nothing to cool the air. Cracked pipes, damage to the evaporator radiator, dirty air filter or compressor failure are some of the reasons that can lead to these gas leaks.
The most common reason that the air conditioning does not work is due to gas leaks.
And given this, we have no choice but to take the car to the workshop so that the mechanics give it a recharge of the air conditioning gas .

Blown Fuses

In addition to gas leakage, another reason your air conditioner is not working properly may be that the fuses have blown. The electrical part of a car is fundamental and it may be that a fuse in some component is causing the air conditioning circuit to not work.

Failure in the ventilation system
The third reason why we can find that our air conditioning does not work is the malfunction of the ventilation system motors. If these fans break down, no air will pass into the passenger compartment , even if the pipes through which the air passes are cold.

Failure in the electric motor

Finally, if we are faced with an air conditioner, we can be victims of a failure in the electric motor that mixes hot and cold air. The electric motor is in charge of moving the air with the wide grille that cars present, where the cold air is mixed with the hot one, according to the degrees you mark on the control panel. If this engine has a problem, the air mixture will not be made correctly and you will have the feeling that the air does not cool well or that it cools more than necessary.
