The National Police has arrested Rafael Garcia Fernandez, alias Rafita, for the twenty-second time, this time for being wanted and arrested for fraud decreed by a Malaga Court, a spokeswoman for the Madrid Police Headquarters has reported.
The arrest took place this past Thursday around 11:00 a.m. on Concejo de Teverga street, in the Madrid neighborhood of Entrevias. With this there are 22 arrests for a multitude of crimes and there are 16 search warrants already ceased.
The agents identified him on the street and upon verifying who he was and his search warrant pending from this month in Malaga, he was arrested and placed at the disposal of the judge, who has ordered his entry into prison, in which he is already, the same sources have indicated.
The last time Rafita was arrested was this same month of June by the Civil Guard for leading a gang specialized in robberies in Madrid by the moon landing method, mainly in hotel and restaurant businesses. To the three prisoners I attribute the authorship of twenty robberies in different establishments of the Community of Madrid.
The extensive history of Rafita
RGF, better known as Rafita, was convicted of participating when he was 14 years old in the cruel murder of Sandra Palo, which occurred in May 2003. The 22-year-old girl was intellectually disabled and one night when she arrived home from a workshop was kidnapped by several boys, who raped her, ran her over and burned her alive.
The arrest of Rafael Fernandez adds to more than twenty records both during his period of supervised release, that is, while he was serving the second phase of the judicial measures established for this crime, and afterwards.
Most have been for vehicle theft, home usurpation, damage and crimes against road safety. He has been in prison at least three times, from which he has been released after a few months. He even changed the order of his last names to mislead the Police and his criminal history.
But the most serious accusation that he had endured until now was belonging to a criminal group dismantled in 2011 in the Ceniza operation. Its members, based in Canada Real Galiana, scrapped stolen cars to sell the parts.
But despite their dismantling a decade ago, they returned to the same old thing shortly after and were arrested again at the beginning of 2018. His brothers Eduardo, Ricardo and Daniel also fell in the same operation, who are also multiple repeat offenders.
Rafita lived in small Alcorcon but moved a few years ago to the old livestock trail when he was evicted from the family home under official protection. Then he lost track of his residence, although it is known that he got married and had children, but he was always in those same areas, including the Getafense center of Perales del Rio.
