Potatoes are one of the most popular non-vegetables. They lend themselves to almost any seasoning, are easy to digest and help you lose weight. In fact, they offer an immediate sense of satiety if taken at the beginning of the meal, instead of pasta. The most classic way to get the most of their benefits is to consume them steamed, together with carrots, extra virgin olive oil, salt and parsley. You will see that after a week you will already have a more deflated belly. They are also excellent with a nice ragu, cut into small pieces or together with a second course of fish: try them cooked with milk and cod. In short, green light to the imagination because it is the most versatile food that exists in the world.

Pasta Chapati stuffed instead of pasta
Chapati is a typical bread from India which, however, is not leavened. It is prepared only with flour and water. If desired, extra virgin olive oil or ghee can also be added to the mixture. A soft dough is prepared and left to rest for an hour out of the fridge. At the end, it is divided into many balls and a very thin sheet is obtained. It is cooked for a few seconds per side on an iron pan or, failing that, in a non-stick pan. Once ready they can be stuffed with meat fillings: for example a finely chopped stew, ragu, sautéed vegetables or a black cabbage pate. Even in this case, you can get endless variations – all healthy and without pasta. The chapati mixture can also be modified with different flours, perhaps half of cereals and half of legumes.

And if you really don’t know how to give up the classic pasta dish, we can deceive our eyes with a vegetable pasta. The preparation is very simple and decidedly less caloric than a pasta dish. To make it, however, you need a small – and cheap – device that allows you to cut a simple courgette (or other vegetables) into noodles even if it would be better to say zoodles. They are very easily found on Amazon and in 24 hours they are at your home. You can find all the prices from 6 euros to 80 for electric ones. After giving shape to your vegetable spaghetti, blanch them for a minute in boiling water and season them – for example – with sautéed tomatoes and olives or with rocket pesto. Also in this case the alternatives are many. There is nothing left to do but try.
