An opinion has been asked to the CTS, called for tomorrow. The hypothesis is to reduce, from the beginning of January, the isolation of contacts to 3-5 days for those who have received the third dose.
The government has already started a careful reflection on quarantine since yesterday. The current measures, it is emphasized, do not take into account the third dose and the Omicron variant. The sources underline, however, that it will be the scientists of the Scientific Technical Committee (CTS) who will make an assessment and put on the table a possible modification, before any other official consideration.
Scientists have been asked to evaluate whether it is possible to modify the rules based on the trend of the epidemiological curve and the swabs carried out until Wednesday 29 December. All this in order to have a database that can be discussed during the Council of Ministers which, probably, should take place the next day.
