Nuki expands its catalog of security devices with two new smart locks, Smart Lock 3.0 (priced below 150 euros) and Smart Lock 3.0 Pro , with a new color, aluminum knob and integrated battery and Wi-Fi.
The company, as explained during the presentation, is present in more than 200,000 doors in Europe, a respectable figure but, in the opinion of Martin Pansy, CEO and co-founder of Nuki Home Solutions , still insufficient, because it means that “only 1.5 % of the doors are smart in European homes”. To accelerate the rate of growth of these products, Nuki presents two new models , one more basic and the other with a greater breadth of functionalities.
Both versions can be fitted to virtually any existing door lock without drilling holes. They have a more powerful motor and new optimized gears offer quieter operation. In addition, as in the previous models, they can be activated directly with the button on the knob, which also has an improved pressure point.
Smart Lock 3.0 and Smart Lock 3.0 Pro
Nuki Smart Lock 3.0 is a quality and affordable option. The knob is made of high quality plastic and the body is white. It is compatible with all the products in the Nuki accessory range, so it is possible to manage it remotely with the Nuki Bridge, open the door with a numerical code on the Nuki Keypador with a Nuki Fob , and expand it with a Nuki Power Pack . The Nuki Smart Lock 3.0 is available for 149 euros.
For its part, Smart Lock 3.0 Pro has a stainless steel knob and includes the Power Pack . It is available in black and white and has an integrated Wi-Fi connection, which takes over the function of the Nuki Bridge, allowing direct connection to the Internet. With Wi-Fi, users can access their Smart Lock anytime, anywhere, allowing them to integrate it into their smart home system. Nuki Smart Lock 3.0 Pro is available for 249 euros.
Both Smart Lock 3.0 Pro and Smart Lock 3.0 are compatible with home automation systemsalready known as Apple HomeKit, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, IFTTT and many others.
Accessories
Nuki smart locks are combined with accessories such as the external Nuki Door Sensor (39 euros), which provides information on the status of the door through the application, indicating whether it is closed or open. The Nuki app also sends a notification when the door is locked or when it remains open for more than a predefined time.
The Nuki universal cylinder,For its part, it can be individually adjusted to adapt to most older doors, which do not have an emergency lock to open and unlock them from the outside if we have left the key inside. The cylinder is delivered with five keys and will soon be available for 79 euros.
Nuki Bridge and Nuki Opener also come with novelties, specifically in a new white color, to fit discreetly in the entrance of the house.
Finally, the update program for the Nuki community(available in February) will make it possible for those who want to upgrade their current Nuki Smart Lock to receive the external Nuki Door Sensor for free when purchasing the Nuki Smart Lock 3.0 Pro. The old device can be kept and used on another door.
