The Sevillian company Noruco , the only company in Spain specialized in the manufacture of medical equipment for minimally invasive surgery, has expanded its facilities with the aim of becoming the largest manufacturer of endoscopy technology in Europe.
In a statement, from the Andalusian Agency for Foreign Promotion ( Extenda ), an entity dependent on the Ministry of Economy and Knowledge, it is indicated that Noruco began its activity as a technical service for other brands, but “soon noticed the niche of opportunity in the sector and launched into the manufacture of its own developments”.
“R&D is the engine of growth and expansion of our company. We work to design products that can improve the way of working in operating rooms and that can only be achieved through innovation,” says the company’s executive director , Beatriz Perez.
Their endoscopy teams arrive at hospitals, both public and private. “We work for the Andalusian Health Service (SAS ) and other public services, as well as for hospital chains, such as the Quiron Group,” continues Perez, confirming that its main export markets are in Europe, Latin America and the Middle East.
He underlines that the company has not stopped growing. “We are immersed in a very ambitious project to expand our facilities and become the largest endoscopy center in Europe, with more than 3,200 square meters dedicated to the production of minimally invasive surgery equipment and technical service,” says the executive director of Norwegian .
In addition, it indicates that an important commitment has been made with the aim of improving its portfolio, through “a revolutionary patented thermoregulated endoscopy system, which will allow us to open up to markets such as Lithuania, India, Korea and Pakistan , where we already have distribution agreements “, with which they also hope to increase their exports to reach 40 percent of their turnover.
Diversify
Likewise, it emphasizes that the company has also been able to diversify its business in the midst of a pandemic. “We received the call from the Ministry of Health and, currently, we maintain a production line of surgical masks and individual protection equipment (PPE), to offer them to the health sector,” the businesswoman abounds.
In its international trajectory, Noruco has counted on Extenda . “Since we decided to start our international expansion, we have relied on Extenda,” says Perez. They have used services such as attendance at fairs, consulting on international strategy and action, as well as on marketing and financing, and trade missions. Thus, “Extend , tell about your project and ask for guidance, because it opens your eyes to the world”, he concludes.
