MILAN – Telling, through the theater, the birth of the myth, passing on the origins of man through sounds, images and emotions. Thus was born MYTHOS , the theatrical project conceived by Vittorio Vaccaro and Ilaria Ame, in collaboration with Micaela Palmieri, now in its third edition, scheduled from 16 to 21 October at the San Babila Theater in Milan. Telling the myth
The mythical tale does not depend on personal invention or creative imagination, but on transmission and memory. Telling the myth means retracing human history in its entirety, social and political, it means satisfying the need to provide an explanation for natural phenomena or answers to questions about existence and the cosmos, which have reached the present time. It also and above all means investigating those hidden areas of man that reveal themselves when placed before the most ancient mysteries of existence. This introduction tells in some way the principle of an idea that led to the creation of a festival for two seasons. A stage full of guests, artists, singers, actors, speakers and university researchers who took turns trying to tell how the myth has arrived until today. The female figure
With the third edition, Mythos wants to pursue a slightly more precise, more punctual path, capable of giving a strong signal to contemporaneity, a path of denunciation and awareness on some themes of our days that could be married with an apparently distant theme but instead extremely close, like the theme on the female figure, the Woman, who today lives almost a sort of social rebirth, but who has always been considered a subordinate figure to the so-called “stronger sex”, oppressed by some social conventions such as ‘being a mother and taking care of all those awkward and humble jobs, without any possibility of being able to have important roles in society. It is also true that over time history has been able to tell female figures who have managed to redeem that sex considered “The weaker sex” and who have, in some way, re-educated, the company to have an equal attitude between men and women. I am not exaggerating by saying that the social path of the fair sex has gone from a scullery maid to a modern myth. Today from TV, to magazines, to blogs, they mythologize the figure of She: a career woman, a sprint mother, an emancipated woman, a self-sufficient, indestructible, efficient woman. There are many examples to do, from music, to politics, from healthcare, to TV, from cinema to volunteering, literature, sport, economics. Sort of: Women, mothers, careers. Dei Miti 2. Mythos thus becomes a stage where to tell the story of the new female figure, which she built with effort and sacrifice, fighting against any male chauvinist social opposition. A question, at this point, appears necessary: the prejudices on the part of the male world are
over And everything is resolved
Women have really achieved serenity in this society that has apparently leveled the two sexes on the same level
Many answers and many thoughts that revolve around an apparently simple topic that brings with it many nuances and dynamics, which highlight the other side of the coin, that gray side, which, as far as we can talk about it, is always little treated. , despite the efforts of the media, of well-known personalities who try to sensitize public thought, that side still too shadowy that it is difficult to recognize it as a modern problem of our society, that is, Violence against Women! Mythos, the Woman 2.0 will be developed within a week at one of the most historic theaters in Italy, considered the living room of Milan, the San Babila theater. The location will welcome journalists, writers, musicians, direct witnesses of the violence suffered, documentaries, videos will be screened and a path created, a sort of installation within the theatrical space. The program with the guests can be consulted atthis link .
