An incredible Amazon success! “LOL Who Laughs and Out” is truly the show we all wanted and expected. Ten irresistible comedians locked in a room, and only one goal: not to laugh. The idea comes from a Japanese program called Dokyumentary (2016 – ongoing). Yesterday the final two episodes came out and we found the winner. But why is it making so much success? We need lightness
The great success of LOL, and the testimony of how much we Italians need to laugh. We require, without even turning around too much, entertainment capable of making us feel light. Our reality, our present, are already heavy and difficult to face, for this reason what we see on a screen must be able to make us escape. Here, LOL gave us the opportunity to laugh again, to make light content go viral and not just news of death or lockdown. We needed new arguments, made of serenity. 10 comedians on board plus Fedez and Mara Maionchi at the helm. A success that went viral in a few hours and that will surely revolutionize the world of the TV show. Improvisation between varied competitors
“The meeting between the new and old school of comedy,” said Fedez at the beginning of the program. Yes, from Pintus to Lillo, passing through Elio up to Frank Matano and The Jackal, LOL has put together a variety of characters capable of personalizing any aspect of the comic. The mechanisms that make laughter viral are mainly two:
The first is trying not to do it. Trying not to laugh, in fact, makes even the most stupid and imperceptible thing extremely funny. And the challenge that makes the concept itself fun too. Secondly, there is the complicity between the various competitors. The fact that there is friendship between them outside of the show makes it all extremely familiar and spontaneous. The improvisation of each one, in their diversity and peculiarity, makes everything hilarious. The jokes, the gestures, the sketches, the ballets, being all improvised on the spot, immediately reach the public, who have immortalized them in “memes” that will enter the history of TV. The LOL Winner
But in the end, who won LOL
Ciro of The Jackal. After a challenge to the last laugh with Katia Follesa, Ciro managed to keep his “seriousness”, winning € 100,000 (to be given to charity). The winner gave an interview to FanPage stating that he was ” Definitely very good at hiding as much laughter as possible”. “I ate and drank compulsively. I drank, above all. ” he stated. Despite the strategy, however, Ciro was a confirmation after the success with The Jackal. A confirmation also as regards his dedication to humanitarian missions. Among these, there is the one with Action Aid, an association to which the victory money will go.
“Knowing Action Aid I got to see the wonderful work they have done over the years. I have been to Africa several times with The Jackal for the commercials we shot for them and I carry within me memories of those children that are absolutely indelible. When there was this possibility, I immediately thought of those smiles, those faces and all their will to live inside. ”
