The health crisis caused by the coronavirus has made masks an indispensable element in people’s daily lives. Since the pandemic began back in March, specialists and the Ministry of Health have followed clear guidelines in which masks and social distance are key aspects to prevent the spread of the virus.
Since the beginning of this crisis that has devastated the country and has left thousands dead , the masks have been present and not without controversy. Many models, brands and companies have been closely followed due to the quality of the products and the real effectivenesswhen dealing with external agents. For this reason, the Ministry of Consumer Affairs continues to update a list of masks that are not suitable for use since they do not comply with filtering regulations or for other more specific reasons in terms of the materials that make them up.

Masks that do not meet consumer requirements

The Ministry of Consumer Affairs does not cease its work to guarantee the safety of citizens and updates a list of products that are not recommended for health improvement. As for the masks, those that have been withdrawn from the market are:

LANXIANG Mask, ref. ES 906: its filter material has a penetration greater than that allowed for an FFP2 type mask.

BUTTERFLY TYPE mask, MOLOVEN brand, model MY002, type KN95: its filter material has a penetration greater than that allowed for an FFP2 type mask.

FEK FUERKANG mask, type K95/FFP2, lot 20200315: the filtering material has a penetration greater than that allowed for a type FFP2 mask.

ELITE mask, type FFP3/KN95, model ELITE RESPIRATOR EB09.049: its filter material has a penetration greater than that allowed for an FFP2 type mask.

FFP2 mask in green packaging, GARRY GALAXY brand, ref. 20200324 201201: does not comply with filtering regulations, so there is a risk of contamination when the person wearing the mask believes they are protected.

PURVIGOR mask, type KN95/FFP2, lot 20200316: Does not comply with filtering regulations, so the product was recovered.

INUAN mask, type KN95, ref. 200301: its filter material has a penetration greater than that allowed for an FFP2 type mask.

Mask “Available protective mask” of the TONQCHEN WENXIN LABOR PROTECTION brand, 50 pcs: in its packaging it appears “Antivirus” but it does not document this property.

Children’s mask “Kids Mask” of the YCK brand, disposable, 3 layers, 50 units: the same as the previous one, “Antivirus” appears on the packaging but this property is not documented.

Mask “Premium Disposable Face Mask”, unbranded,This mask has elements of a PPE, such as the CE marking, but it is not documented. In addition, its packaging states that it can filter bacteria, but it does not document this property.
