Alessio Postiglione di Formiche will also be present at Libropolis, the publishing and journalism festival organized by the Libropolis association with the patronage of the Municipality of Pietrasanta and in collaboration with the online periodical magazine L’Intelluale Dissidente and GOG Edizioni, which for three days, from Friday 8 to Sunday 10 October, will animate the cloister of Sant’Agostino in Pietrasanta on the occasion of the fifth edition.
Postiglione will present his latest book, “Calcio & geopolitica. How and why countries and powers use football for their geopolitical interests “, Edizioni Mondo Nuovo, written with Valerio Mancini and Narcis Pallares, on the role of soft power that football plays today for states and new forms of liquid and transnational power .
The festival program is long and articulated also this year, which includes some of the most well-known opinion leaders of the Italian socio-political and cultural scene, such as Paolo Cacciari, Luisa Viglietti, Paolo Savona, Mario Sechi, Nadia Urbinati, Camilla Conti, Roger Abravanel , Guia Soncini, Stenio Solinas, Paolo Ercolani, Natalino Irti, Alessandro Sallusti, Luca Palamara, Nicoletta Iacobacci, Marco Tarchi, Francesca Bocca Aldaqre, Roger Abravanel, Juri Camisasca, Davide Brullo, Andrea Zhok, Dario Fabbri, Sebastiano Caputo, Filippo Ceccarelli, Orietta Moscatelli, Giancarlo Dotto, Francesco Semprini and many others.
Questions and doubts have always been the figure of Libropolis which this year offers the public six levels of interpretation of the present to reflect together on the “metamorphosis of power” and develop futuristic scenarios. At the dawn of the twenty-first century, the epidemic has accelerated a process that now appears inevitable: the strengthening of techno-democracy. Faced with this scenario, in full “circulation of the elites”, we can glimpse the conflict between legitimacy and competence, between peoples and hyper-bureaucratized institutions, between demagogy and new power plants. There are therefore many tables of the Great Game: in the digital world the great platforms emerge, in politics the relations between states and supranational apparatuses are redesigned, in the world the balance of power between great powers changes, the question of technology becomes central again.
The Libropolis scene will be opened on Friday 8 October at 5 pm by the conversation on “The imbroglio del capitalismo green” between Paolo Cacciari and Thomas Fazi; the one on The new frontiers of finance: governing the digital market will follow ”with Paolo Savona and Mario Sechi. Among the debated events there is the one concerning the case of the Italian judiciary which will be faced by Alessandro Sallusti and Luca Palamara, while Roger Abravanel and Lorenzo Castellani will deal with giving a name to the “masters of the spirit of the time: democracy, techno-populism , aristocracy “. The Mattei case will have a prominent place with Federico Mosso’s book that demonstrates “when power kills”, and again with regard to power and its ‘literature’ the journalist Filippo will be invited to tell about his experience in those rooms Ceccarelli.
Libropolis is the realm of doubt and questions, and among these is the urgent one: What dissent in the post-democracy era
”: Nadia Urbinati, Paolo Ercolani and Agnese Pini will be called to question and answer. And there is an Italian deep state.
The answers on Prepotere will be entrusted to Flaminia Camilletti and Camilla Conti. What’s after neo-liberalism
Carlo Formenti, Andrea Zhok and Alessio Mannino will try to answer.
“The fifth edition – comments Alessandro Mosti, president of the Libropolis association – will be an extraordinary journey into the deep mechanics of power, to be followed by following the common thread that binds most of the festival’s events: the relationship between political decision makers and non-elective powers , of a technical nature, which by now condition the lives of citizens and political choices in the same way, if not perhaps even more so, than the elective and representative ones.
This is a decisive theme of modernity, which we will address in dialogue with some of the most authoritative Italian personalities who come from the world of control and finance authorities, and they experience this dialectical relationship between technology and democracy every day “.
