“Nothing is truer than a large public hospital like La Mole , where we are born, die or simply survive.” Federico Relimpio starts from reality when he narrates a new story, a narration that always embarks on an intriguing fictional plot in which anyone could feel reflected or recognize the situation in others. In what is his fifth published novel , La Mole (it will be released on Amazon on September 25), this doctor by profession and writer by vocation delves into the viscera of a public health system and a large hospital that represents it .
A stranger, rushed down the stairwell. A suicide, apparently. But the forensic examination will tell us that it is a homicide. Amurder whose clarification will tell us a lot about the way power is exercised in the region. And as ‘democracy’ it is an idea of remove and put, a merchandise of purchase and sale”.

The work of Federico Relimpio

This is not the first book of Federico Relimpio. To his credit he already has four other literary works, the majority, with the world of medicine in the foreground or background. “My interest in writing appeared like this, suddenly, at the end of the first decade of this century. I accumulated a great disappointment for the environment in which I developed my work. Something understandable, on the other hand: I had been in it for a couple of decades professional world and I had the impression that my assistance and research efforts had only attracted the cynical contempt of my superiors, rigidly bent on submission to the political world of the time. I could choose to vegetate or explore new alternatives, and here I am”, explains Relimpio, who today and after ten years in the literary world feels like a writer in a doctor’s body.
In this decade, Federico Relimpio has evolved as an author: “With the first novel, KOL Lider de Opinion, I was overwhelmed by the challenge, the need to express myself, to place myself on the margins of a false and oppressive professional and institutional world. With the second, Bajo su Piel Tatuada, I immersed myself in the of the economic crisis of 2008. With the third, Ladridos en la Noche, I faced the fact that the law is not the same for everyone and that a well-placed caste could, in effect, plan on mortals in the manner of the old aristocracy” .
Now, with La Mole, he returns to those “terrible stories, without a doubt, but stories that are trueOr are they inspired by reality… Each patient brings their story, which goes far beyond their ailments. If one threads the stories through a history with the smell of the neighborhood, with real heroes and heroines, one will immediately appreciate the true intrigue of life”, details Relimpio.
Although the issue of healthcare and its driftis a very topical topic, the author recognizes that the idea that surrounds this book is long before the pandemic. “La Mole dates back to 2018 technically, but the idea is much earlier. It is rooted in a mixture of weariness and indignation at the abuse of the use of Health by the political class to win elections. From falsified figures (or made-up) and leaders ‘taking their photo’ while, behind, reality was hidden at all costs. And no, it is not correct. We citizens deserve health workers free from pressure and, even more, free from fear, of intimidation”. And it is precisely to these health workers that he wanted to dedicate the work: “Given that this work is completed during the second year of the first great pandemic of the 21st century,
