Overlooking the Romolo train station in Milan and a few steps from the Iulm University , the Covivio group has created The sign , a management complex that thanks to an agreement recently signed, it will also host the next Italian headquarters of L’Oreal . Yesterday the real estate company and the cosmetics company, both French, announced a ten-year pre-leasing contract for an entire building of approximately 13,000 square meters, currently still under development. Made by Progetto cmr, the new headquarters of L’Oreal Italia will rise at the end of the regenerated Fernanda Pivano square and Iulm Park, and will be structured on 9 floors, with panoramic terraces, spaces for employees to relax, common areas and almost 180 underground parking spaces. The works of the new Milanese space of the group should be completed by 2024, and until that date, L’Oreal will remain in its current location in the Primaticcio district. In this operation, for the legal aspects, L’Oreal Italia was assisted by the Clifford Chance firm .
In The sign, the cosmetics giant will be added to two other important companies that use the spaces of Covivio, namely Aon , a financial consultancy company, and Ntt, a group that provides strategic consulting services. At the moment, of the three buildings that should complete the project according to the initial plan, together with some areas of public spaces, only one has been built, the one that houses the Italian offices of the other two companies. Alexei Dal Pastro, Covivio ceo Italy, explained: «We are thrilled to welcome L’Oreal, a brand synonymous with excellence all over the world that will contribute to the growth and enhancement of the entire district. Thanks to its design features and architectural quality, and the local presence of companies of primary standing, The sign is destined to become a new metropolitan destination that will give further impetus to the evolution of Milan towards new forms of connection, innovation and sustainability. Together with Symbiosis, another of our iconic projects in the city, The sign demonstrates Covivio’s ability to think and give life to the Milan of tomorrow and the new generation business district ».
The new L’Oreal headquarters testifies not only to the group’s desire for renewal, but also to a more extensive trend that also embraces other brands in the fashion industry. In Milan, fashion companies are moving their headquarters to new and renovated structures, sliding from the prestigious streets of the center towards new redeveloped spaces in the outer areas of the city. In particular, there is an area in the sights of brands. The LVMH group announced that it had changed the spaces of its headquarters in Milan a few weeks ago, formalizing for the beginning of 2022 the transition from via Ripamonti to building D of the new and modern Symbiosis commercial district , also built by Covivio, near Prada Foundation(see MFF dated 08/10/2021), where Moncler has also decided that it will locate its headquarters, moving it from the current structure in via Solari. Bottega Veneta is also at home in those parts , located in via Ercole Marelli, a few meters from the Golden Goose headquarters . A colonization of the district renamed Soupra (South Prada) to which the choice of L’Oreal echoes, renaming a fashion industry axis in the heart of southern Milan, where Armani has also opened the Armani Silos .
