What is the true line of the 5 Star Movement of Crimi and Di Maio on the alliance with the Democratic Party
of the two, one about the mess of the digital referendum of the Grillini on local alliances denied by subsequent events according to the front page title of Corriere della Evening on the regional elections of 20 September: “The Pd-5S agreement fails. The coalition divided everywhere ”. Everywhere, in truth, with the exception of Liguria, where, however, the support of the Democratic Party for the candidacy of the journalist of the Fatto Quotidiano Ferruccio Sansa has strengthened the possibility of confirming the outgoing center-right governor Giovanni Toti with the help of left-wing dissidents.
Of the two, I was saying, one: either Luigi Di Maio, although irritated in words by this hypothesis, cheated the secretary of the Pd Nicola Zingaretti, deluding him of an open door, if not wide open, to the extension of the agreement of government in the suburbs, making strategic or organic, as you prefer, the alliance made last year for tactical reasons, in order to avoid early elections won by the center-right with Northern League traction, or Di Maio and Zingaretti together were screwed by the “regent” pentastellato Vito Crimi. Whose proper name inspired the cartoon by Emilio Giannelli on the first page of the Corriere, which proposes it to readers as a screw that turns on itself, denying the expectations, wishes and so on even of the Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte and even of Beppe Grillo: the founder, the “guarantor”,
Both hypotheses have their own credibility: both the one that penalizes Di Maio in relations with Zingaretti, since the passage of the Foreign Minister from resistance to the push for the extension of the government alliance with the Democratic Party in the periphery was too sudden, and that which revitalizes, so to speak, the political figure of Crimi, making him no longer a regent but a real leader, finally redeemed not only from the provisional statutory of his mandate, after Di Maio’s resignation, but also or above all from that damned old photo at Senate that nails him to a sleep certainly not of a Masonic brand.
You can even glimpse the political perfidy, the complacency, the fun in Crimi’s decision to give Corriere della Sera a trivializing version of the digital consultation that suddenly took place among the grillini and interpreted, in its results, as a functional “turning point” not only in the local elections on September 20 but also in the spring of next year. Then we will vote for the renewal, among others, of the municipal administrations of Rome and Turin, where grilline mayors are leaving, one of which – Virginia Raggi in Campidoglio – already booked for re-nomination, and therefore eager to be freed from the constraint of two, and no more than two, elective mandates already consumed by her first as a municipal councilor and then as the first citizen.
But for heaven’s sake – explained Crimi, boasting that he had decided to suddenly use the digital switch – the militants’ computers were used for the urgency of the practices of “four municipalities”, no more, grappling with the elections of September 20: one and that of Pomigliano d’Arco, where Di Maio snatched the support of his candidate for mayor from the Democratic Party, another in Faenza and another in Vimercate, in Brianza. And there are three. The fourth name has remained dormant, like the Crimi in the Senate photo now overtaken by the fulminating protagonist of the pentastellato regent.
