Where is it
Easter Island is a small island located in the middle of the South Pacific Ocean , almost isolated from the rest of the world. Its territory belongs to Chile from which it is 3700 km away.

How to get

  • From Milan or Rome : Easter Island can be reached by direct flight only from Santiago de Chile and Tahiti, so starting from Italy you can find direct flights lasting about 10 hours but only up to these two destinations, traveling with the national airline, Lan Chile, or with Alitalia, Iberia and Air France. From Rome direct flights are managed by Alitalia, while flights departing from Milan include at least one stopover in Europe, usually in Paris or Madrid, so in this case the journey takes up to 18 hours. Once you have reached Tahiti or Santiago de Chile, you will have to move with another direct flight of about 5 hours to reach the Easter Island airport. Flights from Rome from € 721.00 – Flights from Milan from € 708.00
  • From the main European capitals : even starting from Europe it will not be possible to find a direct flight to reach Easter Island and it will be necessary to make a stopover in Santiago de Chile or Tahiti. What to do and what to see: beaches and places of interest

  1. Hanga Roa is the capital of Easter Island, a moderate-sized town with a wild and elemental look that overlooks the west coast and is home to several Moai structures
  2. Rapa Nui Parque Nacional is the large national park that extends from the north of the island towards the coasts within which many Moai are protected, which is why the park was established
  3. Anakena Beach is the most famous of Easter Island with white sand and crystal clear waters, surrounded by greenery and a great place to relax or surf
  4. Playa Pea is one of the best beaches in the capital, located a few kilometers from the city center and characterized by cliffs and long and high waves, excellent for surfing rather than relaxation
  5. Ovahe is a beach in the north of the island included in the Rapa Nui national park, a small isolated corner of paradise, almost desert and bathed by crystal clear waters
  6. Rano Raraku is a stone quarry located in the east of the island, near the homonymous volcano, and inside it you can see a series of incomplete Moai sculptures and others never raised due to their large size
  7. Rano Kau is an extinct volcano located in the extreme south of the island and 324 meters high which today houses a lake inside the crater, which can be observed from the edge
  8. Ahu Te Pito Kura is a large round stone known as the “Navel of the World”, probably due to its incredibly magnetic nature, in fact if you try to approach a compass it suddenly goes crazy and all the compasses that are approached it go crazy
  9. Cueva De Las Dos Ventanas is a small rocky and natural quarry on the west coast where you can enter and relax in front of the sea
  10. Poike is another imposing volcano on the island, also extinct, about 370 meters high and located in the westernmost area, an excellent point for trekking lovers
