The Gran Hipodromo de Andalucia , the complex that the Dos Hermanas City Council promoted in the Entrenucleos area, will once again host races this autumn, after more than a year of forced closure, first due to the pandemic and then due to the difficulties of the company. that he had the concession to manage it, that he entered bankruptcy proceedings, with significant debts.
This has been confirmed by sources from the City Council chaired by the socialist Francisco Toscano, who point out that the concession company since 2014, Apuesta Deportiva Hipica Iberia (ADHI), finally passed from bankruptcy to final liquidation.
In this process, the City Council has been able to resolve the concession and recover the management of the facilities, through the municipal company Apuesta Mutua Andaluza, of which the Deputy Mayor Francisco Rodriguez is CEO.
The City Council is currently making various improvements and the set-up of the facilities so that the races can return. Before the summer and in view of the fact that it could assume the management again, the Consistory also began the process to hire the necessary personnel: seven workers (a technician with an agricultural profile and six laborers). These are positions that until now the concession company has been taking care of.
Although this Friday a press conference has been convened at the Dos Hermanas City Hall to give more details of how this management and the racing program will be, municipal sources have pointed out that the City Council, through the municipal company, will keep the facilities in perfect condition, while an agreement with the Association of Spanish Racetracks will allow this entity to be the one to organize the roads.
It is the formula that Toscano had been betting on for a long time, in conversations with those responsible for the main racetracks in the country. He is not only going to allow the Gran Hipodromo de Andalucia to reopen, but also to recover the race calendar that was planned for 2021, as well as all the activities and the turf (the races on which spectators can place bets) for 2022.
The president of the Association of Spanish Racetracks, Rafael Marquez Ojea; as well as the vice president of the entity and general director of the Hipodromo de la Zarzuela, Alvaro Gutierrez de la Fuente; together with the mayor and CEO of Apuesta Mutua Andaluza, Francisco Rodriguez.
