For football lovers it is not a day like any other, everyone would like to see him again run towards the corner flag and crawl with his knees on the green grass of the playing field after a goal scored, but the decision has been made and Didier Drogba has decided to quit playing football.
A striker like the Ivorian who has fascinated the football people whatever the team he played for.
At 40 he chose to say enough with the ball and shoes and he wanted to do it by thanking whoever was there and who helped him to become what he has become . Words written on his social channels describing his successful career as a journey he started from an early age, followingthat dream that later became reality and that reality that later became his life .

looking at this photo of my first license can only make me prouder of what I have accomplished as a player but more importantly, how this adventure has made me the man I am today. If someone ever tells you that your dreams are too big, nod and work harder smarter to make them come true!!!! I would like to thank all the players, coaches, teams, and supporters, whom I met and made this career a very special moment. A big thank you from the bottom of my heart to all my family, my “personal team” for supporting me throughout my career, in good times and in bad times.

YOUTH IN FRANCE AND THE DEBUT IN LIGUE 2
The memory of his career starts from a photo on the fields of Niaprayodove in the Ivory Coast where it all started at the age of 11 in 1989. The alternation with school, the transfer to France and the youth teams first in Levallois and then in Le Mans with the consequent debuts in the first team in Ligue 2, with the first real contracts as a professional and with the summons among the African Elephants of which he is by far the best scorer in history with 65 goals in 105 appearances.
THE PASSAGE TO OM
The leap in quality took place when Olympique Marseille bought him from Guingamp. In just one season he managed to score many goals in the league and drag the French into the final of the Uefa Cup , lost to Valencia 2-0. That season he also punished Inter in the first leg quarter-finals with the 1-0 goal at the Velodrome.
THE TRANSFER TO CHELSEA

The turning point in his career, however, took place the following year, when Jose Mourinho himself , fresh coach of the Blues, telephoned him to convince him to fly to London . From that called Drogba he has become the idol of all Chelsea fans and a footballer loved and respected by all. With Chelsea in eight years he wins everything, crowning the Champions League dream in the 2011/12 season , scoring an enormous amount of important goals in all competitions.
THE RETURN TO LONDON, BEFORE AMERICA

His love for Chelsea brings him back to England in the 2014/15 season after the brackets in China and Galatasaray in Turkey and before the move to America. first at Montreal Impact in Mls and then in Usl in Phoenix Rising .
A career that has allowed him to be a winner and to be one of the most successful African footballers in the world , as well as being very close to his country through humanitarian aid.

In the letter he reiterated that a new chapter and now we are curious to know what it is.
We all miss Didier a bit, but what he did on the pitch will hardly be forgotten.
