Carmen Snake is not an acrobat… classic. His thing is not the trapeze. Nor does he defy the law of gravity from any tightrope walker’s cable. His facet is much more related to a certain kind of contortionism. Carmen Snake is a “vaginal acrobat”. This is how your show is advertised. This is indicated by a poster in Lepe (Huelva), where several groups of citizens have demanded that the City Council, governed by Juan Manuel Gonzalez (PP), immediately withdraw this advertising “for containing sexist messages, denigrating women and treating them as a consumer item.
The advertising is from a well-known whorehouse in another Huelva town, Ayamonte, and it is clearly visible: they are two large posters located in the vicinity of the crossing of the N-431 national road as it passes through Lepe. And its installation is not recent. Not even the storms that not long ago shook the area have been able to deal with them. Oh they continue. And from them the brothel is promoted, since last summer and offering the Carmen Snake show with the dates of December 18 to 23, offering its 2 for 1 in drinks and the consequent show of show girls.
The posters with the ads are very close to a secondary school
The room that advertises the sex circus is called Numero 1. It already had problems with the law a few years ago and was even the subject of a police raid. Some of those responsible were arrested and the premises had to close. Later it reopened in the New Poligono de Ayamonte.
The leperos who demand the removal of the billboards are also outraged by another particularly sensitive circumstance: that advertising is a few meters from a secondary education institute in Lepe and next to it is another poster that announces a leisure establishment such as a water park, and which usually attracts a lot of children’s attention.
The spokesman for the municipal group of the United Left (IU) in the City Council, Carmelo Cumbreras, will make a plea next Thursday during the plenary session to the government team to remove the advertising. And you will also remember the motion that was unanimously approved at the request of IU in October 2014, in which the “withdrawal” of “billboards and advertising panels from hostesses where the activity is carried out, or suspected of being carried out, was expressly agreed upon. prostitution”, as well as that “these advertising media, or any other form of publicity visible to the whole citizenry, of this type of premises are prohibited in Lepe”.
“I am going to ask in plenary why three years after the approval of the motion this type of advertising is still allowed in Lepe, and if necessary we would present a new motion in this regard so that this is fulfilled,” Cumbreras warned yesterday. .
For her part, Charo Gonzalez, coordinator of the Women’s Area of the leftist formation in Huelva, announced that they would present a complaint about this specific case of Lepe before the Andalusian Observatory of Non-Sexist Advertising, and before the Andalusian Institute for Women, already that in his opinion “women are used as objects of consumption”, so “it means taking a step back in terms of the rights achieved by women”.
