From the town of Aznalcollar, from its very center, starts an interesting circular route that has the Agrio reservoir as its main attraction. It is a beautiful transition area between the Sevillian countryside and the first elevations of Sierra Morena. The landscape will offer the hiker beautiful pictures while crossing hills and olive trees. It is a circular route of about 9.5 km, well marked in general, which shares sections with the PR-A 290.
The beginning is not lost. It starts at the Municipal Theater, passes in front of the Town Hall and from here there are two options: either follow the recommended direction, going down Granada Street; or do it the other way around, going down Isaac Peral street. In both cases the signaling, with yellow marks, is correct. In this guide we are going to follow the second option, therefore, we take the aforementioned Isaac Peral street until we reach a corner with a bus shelter, we turn right and go up Mesa Grande Alta street to the Municipal Sports Center . We have to go around the perimeter of the installation until we are behind it, here a path will go down steeply through a beautiful place called La Vina. In the background, you can already see the Agrio reservoir, which will accompany us for much of the journey.
The descent practically reaches the edge of the counter-dam. You have to go around it until you reach a marshy area (beware, if it rains there may be mud and accumulated water). After overcoming it, we will find a cobbled path that we will follow for a few meters until a curve. From here you can see the wall of the Aznalcollar reservoir with a road (SE-538) that passes over it. The next objective is to climb a steep slope, although not very long, and cross the road.
We have already left the counter-dam behind and we are in the Agrio reservoir. The road will advance near the shore by the hill of La Zarcita, following an undulating profile with some short and pronounced ramps. The area will be dotted with oaks and cork oaks. Attention to the avifauna, because it is an area where interesting specimens can be seen.
At approximately kilometer 4, we will reach the Tamujoso stream , which we will have to wade through in order to ascend to a viewpoint that offers a spectacular panoramic view of the entire route.

It’s time to go back to Aznalcollar . You have to go over Tamujoso again, cross a picnic area and cross the SE-538 again. After another steep uphill slope, the path enters olive groves, since the town is in the background. It is a smooth return that concludes by accessing the municipality through a park at its entrance.
To conclude, it must be made clear that the layout of this circular has very little shade and it is not recommended to do it with high temperatures.
