Archery 2017 will be a long journey with competitions practically every weekend of the highest level. The Olympic discipline is preparing to experience another twelve months of great activity with important events almost every weekend. The hottest months will be those of September and October with four world championships scheduled. Italy will be at the center of the international scene with the organization of the World Cup final on the first weekend of September in Rome. As always, the national activity will be very intense with many events scheduled from January to December.
THE INTERNATIONAL SEASON
The international archery season restarts as usual from the third stage of the World Cup. From 20 to 22 January in Nimes, France, the decisive arrows for access to the finals in Las Vegas (10-12 February). The indoor season will end with the Vittel European Championship (FRA) with archers on the shooting line from 7 to 11 March.
To trigger the outdoor competitions will be the youngest who from 17 to 22 April will compete in the first stage of the European Youth Cup in Marathon, Greece. For seniors, first appointment with the European Grand Prix in Legnica, Poland, from 25 to 29 April. Double appointment also in May, from 16 to 21 the start of the World Cup with the first stage in Shanghai (CHN) followed by the second part of the European Grand Prix in Bucharest in Romania from 22 to 26.
June will be one of the busiest months: from 5th to 11th the European Grand Prix Para-Archery is staged in Olbia and in the same seventh in Antalya (TUR) space for the World Cup with the second stage followed by the third in Salt Lake City (USA) from 20 to 25. In July spotlights on the World Games in Wroclaw (POL), from 20 to 30, and on the second part of the European Youth Cup in Porec, Croatia from 10 to 15
. the arch never goes on vacation and therefore between August and September the calendar becomes very dense with the closing of the World Cup, fourth stage in Berlin from 8 to 13 August and the grand finale that will be organized in Rome from 1 to 3 September . In between the Taipei Universiade (20-23 August) and the European Campaign of Mokrice / Catez from 22 to 27 of the same month.
In September it is time for the Para-Archery World Championship from 12 to 17 and for the 3D World Championship in Robion (FRA) from 19 to 24. On 29 and 30 the European Club Teams Cup will be held in Iasi in Romania. The most important month of the year will however be October with the World Cup in Mexico City from 15 to 22 and the Youth World Cup in Rosario in Argentina from 2 to ‘8. In between, the Paralympic European Games in Liguria from 9 to 15.
Then you will take a breather with the first stage of the 2017/2018 Indoor World Cup in Marrakesh (from 17 to 19), the only event scheduled for November. In December the second stage in Bangkok, the first and second day of the month and the Para Archery World Cup, also in Thailand on the 3rd that will close the international season.
THE FEDERAL EVENTS
The archery season on the national shooting lines will also be long. The first event will be that of Suzzara (MN) with the Italian Indoor Para-Archery Championships on January 28th and 29th, followed by the Tricolori Indoor of Bari on February 25th and 26th. big names in the archery world will meet in Rimini for the III Italian Challenge, a young competition that is already in the hearts of many of the great world interpreters of this discipline. On April 25, no party for the Italian archers who will meet in Pesaro for the Italian Championships.
From 2 to 6 June space for the Tricolor Para-Archery of Castenaso (BO) while on 18 June comes the party of the youngest with the final phase of the Pinocchio Trophy which this year will be held in San Bartolomeo in the province of Imperia. Double federal appointment in July with the Italian Cup of the Regions from 21 to 23 in Desenzano del Garda (BS) and in Pinerolo / Cantalupa (TO) with the 3D Italian Championships on 29 and 30 of the month.
In Travo (PC) on 19 and 20 August the final show of the Grand Prix Campagna while in September in Cortina d’Ampezzo the Tricolori Campagna (9 and 10) and a week later the Italian Targa Championships in Oderzo ( TV). Grand finale as always with the Italian Youth Centers Cup scheduled for 9 and 10 December in Gerenzano (VA).
