The new boards offer a number of new and improved features including:
- with an advanced chiplet design, re-architected compute units and second-generation AMD Infinity Cache technology, the RDNA 3 architecture delivers up to 54% more performance per watt than AMD RDNA 2.
- the world’s first gaming GPU with a chiplet design that offers up to 15% higher frequencies and up to 54% better energy efficiency.
- flagship AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX delivers up to 1.7x 4K performance over Radeon RX 6950 XT
- the only high-end gaming graphics cards in the industry to support DisplayPort 2.1 technology with UHBR 13.5, enabling high-refresh 4K (up to 480Hz) or 8K (up to 165Hz) gaming on high-end displays.
AMD also unveiled several software updates, including the next iteration of FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) temporal upscaling technology, FSR 2.2, which is expected to be available in Forza Horizon 5 starting November 8, 2022. AMD will release in the future approaching FSR 3, with AMD Fluid Motion Frames technology, in 2023.
AMD also announced AMD Advantage for Desktop PCs, which brings the AMD Advantage framework to desktops, combining AMD Ryzen 7950x processors and AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX graphics cards with AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition and AMD smart technologies to provide a state-of-the-art platform for gamers and content creators. AMD Radeon RX 7900 Series graphics cards are expected to be available on AMD.com starting December 13, and from AMD card partners starting mid-December. MSRP for AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX is $999 and AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT is $899.
