AliExpress, the global marketplace for online sales of the Alibaba Group, has launched the brand’s locker service in Spain, promoted and operated by Cainiao Smart Logistics Network, to optimize the delivery experience of your orders in the national market by offering more convenient and safer last-mile delivery options, thus competing with those already deployed by Amazon in our country.
Specifically, this new service allows Spanish consumers to conveniently receive international orders that qualify for this type of delivery in more than 200 locker locations already available in both Madrid and Barcelona , where the first locations have just been opened.
In the coming months, Cainiao will continue to install these lockers in different locations with the goal of having more than 600 ‘lockers’ by the end of the year, thus adding additional cities to the service in the near future.
In this way, this service joins a network of more than 2,700 collection points managed by the logistics partner Celeritas.
If a ‘locker’ is chosen, packages will be placed in these easy-to-use and secure automated lockers, where customers can scan a QR with their order details or enter a code to collect their package.
Spain, priority for AliExpress
“Spain is a priority market for AliExpress. We have improved the delivery service for orders from our marketplace with the launch of air cargo routes from Asia to Madrid by Cainiao, as well as the opening of AliExpress warehouses both in Spain, through alliances with local logistics operators, as in the rest of Europe. Now, we are launching the first ‘lockers’ , an initiative that demonstrates our interest in making life a little easier for Spanish customers,” said the CEO of AliExpress in Spain, William Wang.
The Chinese ‘marketplace’ works to improve the delivery service, strategic for its development in Spain. Thanks to a 220,000 square meter warehouse in Liège, operated and powered by Alibaba eWTP and Cainiao affiliates, as well as local partner warehouses in Spain and other nearby countries, it is able to offer Spanish consumers three-day delivery for products already stocked in Europe . who qualify for this service.
In addition, Cainiao Smart Logistics Network has established an international air cargo route to speed up delivery times.average between China and Europe by more than 30%, which allows the delivery of overseas AliExpress orders to the customer’s door in Spain in up to 10 business days for hundreds of thousands of selected products.
AliExpress has recognized that “accelerating delivery times is a priority” and therefore strives to develop its partner networks to offer the best possible experience to its consumers.
