Taking care of plants is a great way to relax the mind, disconnect from the routine and it is also therapeutic. However, not all of us have a green thumb. If you are also not very practical in gardening, but would like to add some greenery in the house, on the terrace or in the garden, here are some plants that are easy to care for even for beginners. 5 plants that are easy to care for even for those without a green thumb
If you are a black belt with a “black thumb” you have probably wasted a lot of money over the years on plants and seedlings that, unfortunately, lasted only a few weeks (or months) from purchase. By following these tips you will be able to spend your money better by preferring to buy very resistant plants.
If you have never done gardening and you are concerned that taking care of plants or flowers is too complicated, here is a list of 5 plants that are very easy to care for, perfect for starting! Cacti and succulents:cacti and succulents are super easy to care for, as they don’t take a lot of time. They need little water and love sunny environments. You can place them in any corner of the house to create a green space and liven up any room (even the terrace or garden). If you don’t have much space, you can use a single pot for several plants, creating customized compositions. Keep in mind that the varieties available are really very many and, as advice, I can give you the one to avoid succulents with thorns. Periodically they need to be poured and this will simplify the procedure. Among the succulent plants that are very resistant and beautiful to look at, I recommend the plants of the “houseleek” family(the name says it all!): they are extremely resistant and beautiful to look at. You can also leave them outside in the winter without any problems. Aloe Vera: aloe requires very little water and little light to grow well, therefore it is particularly suitable even for those who do not have a green thumb. It is also very useful to keep it at home as it is rich in beneficial properties that you can use to soothe the skin, treat small irritations, to prepare after-sun lotions, moisturizers and much more. It is a plant that I recommend because it really requires very little attention: just avoid exposing it to the cold and it will always be beautiful. Sage and herbs:sage and aromatic herbs in general need very little care and lend themselves very well to make balconies, windowsills and terraces more beautiful. Plus you will always have fresh aromas available to use in the kitchen. But remember that if you put them in the ground – therefore in the garden – you can almost forget them, but if you plant them in a pot then you will have to remember to water them regularly. Grass Misery: called so not by chance, the grass misery or tradescanzia, needs very little care and is able to withstand even the most difficult conditions (cold, sun, excesses or drops in water). It does not need a lot of water and you just need to place it in a well-lit area to have colorful and florid leaves. Some specimens are drooping and give a beautiful pop of color both indoors and on a porch. Also, if you have no difficulty with this plant, you can easily reproduce it by cutting some twigs and placing them directly in another pot with some soil: in this case, for a few weeks you will have to wet the twigs regularly to help the plant develop new roots.
