1 – Gole dell’Alcantara

The Alcantara Gorges are a natural Canyon, located between the towns of Motta Camastra and Castiglione di Sicilia.

8 – Castel del Monte

Designed by Frederick II of Swabia, this fortress is a model of medieval construction . Built around 1240, the particularity of this castle concerns the recurrence of the number 8 in its history. There are eight towers of the castle, eight sides, eight rooms on the first and second floor. For Castel del Monte the number 8 is a constant, an obsession. And we just had to put it in position number 8 in our ranking.
9 – Abbey of San Galgano

The Abbey of San Galgano is located a few tens of kilometers from Siena. Unfortunately, this monastic abbey is almost completely ruined.
